Central Post Office : Ho Chi Min City, Vietnam

Located in the heart of Ho Chi MIn City, in the beautiful country of Vietnam is the Central Post Office which is one of the oldest buildings in Ho Chi Min City and is considered a typical colonial French building.  It was built around 1886 to 1891.  It is located at No. 2 Paris Commune Street, District 1.  It is located just opposite the famous Notre Dame Cathedral.

Inside the Central Post Office are two souvenir shops, an information counter, money exchange and  tastefully decorated telephone booths.  All kinds of traditional postal services are offered here and there is a wide array of stamps being sold here from the cheapest to the most expensive.

Its quite easy to get to the post office, thus this is always included in any city tour.  You can get there by foot, by cyclo, by motor taxi from your hotel at the central district and from other attractions like Reunification Palace and War Remnants Museum.

So, if you happened to visit Saigon and stay at District 1, it will not take you much time to see this place and you will in fact enjoy the other beautiful attractions in the city on your way there.

  1. Such a beautiful city! You will never think that once upon a time, it was a war-stricken country

  2. Wow, the postal office looks beautiful. I'm beginning to wonder if our own central post office looks like a tourist destination? Maybe if it does then more people will use its services too. Hehe. :)
