Where To Stay At Chantaburi Thailand

I've been to Chantaburi a number of times.  It is just one hour ride from the Cambodia boarder, so I get to visit the place more often especially when I have extra days off at work.  Going to that place is also comfortable as you don't need to hire a private taxi, as there are many public transportation available around the boarder.  For THB100, you can be at the heart of the town in just an hour.

When  I am in Chantaburi, I used to stay at KP Grand Hotel.  I have chosen this hotel because it is conveniently located.  It is walking distance to Robinsons mall where a lot of fast foods and restaurants are available.  There is also a cinema inside Robinsons if you want to relax and enjoy one of the latest films being shown.

KP Grand Hotel is one of the good hotels in the heart of Chantaburi and one of the biggest.  The building is not really new bu t it is well maintained.

Upon entering the hotel, you will notice that they had a huge lobby where some jewelry shops can be found. After all, Chantaburi is well know for it's precious stones. :)

The first I checked in here, I was given a room on the 17th floor but it's not really a problem as there are 2 elevators available at the hotel.  In fact it's an advantage, as I was given the opportunity to get a good view of Chantaburi from my room.

The room where I stayed is quite big for a standard room.  I actually wanted to stay on a single room but according to the Front desk clerk, double rooms are cheaper than single room. (Does that makes sense? lol)

In fairness, the building is quite old but it's very clean and well maintained.  I don't have any complain about the room.  It's clean and nice and all the beddings and towels were really clean and white. :)

Included in the price of the room (about $32) is a free breakfast buffet where a good selection of foods were served.  I guess, it's complete.

They have a big restaurant.  Really spacious.

yummy....yummy breakfast served at the hotel's restaurant.

What's next?  They also offer free use of sauna and gym, all included in the price.  Not bad right?

Too bad, I wasn't able to capture a photo of their gym because there are some people using the facility at that time and I don't want them to feel uncomfortable with me taking pictures. But the place is also spacious and there are many fitness equipment available.

Wait, it's not finished yet, they also have this swimming pool,  I think on the 6th floor.

Overall, I think that the stay in the hotel is all worth the price.  Some of my colleagues said it's too pricey for them but for me, I would rather pay a little bit more than the standard if it would give me in return a safe and clean place to stay with good foods and amenities.  After all, we just do it once in a while and perhaps for just a night or two.

So, I would still recommend this hotel for those who wish to visit Chantaburi. :)

    1. Chantaburi is about 3 hrs drive from Bangkok but if you take the public van, you only have to pay THB200, that's about Php260. Not bad, huh? I hope you can take time to visit Thailand soon. many interesting places indeed.
